can you pls tell me why the direction of current will be towards south if the alpha particle is moving towards north

Alpha particle is a positively charged particle. We denote the direction of current in which the electron (negatively charged) travels along.
Hence, if the alpha particle is travelling along North, it would be equivalent as if the electron is moving towards South.
So, we take the direction of current towards South and not North.
