can you please explain me the process of reverse osmosis?

Expert Answer
In osmosis, the pure solvent flows into the solution through the semi permeable membrane.The direction of osmosis can be reversed if a pressure larger than the osmotic pressure is applied to the solution side. The pure solvent now flows out of the solution through the semi permeable membrane. This phenomenon is called reverse osmosis
