Can you give me 2 points of difference between reflection and refraction of light?

Expert Answer:
1.When a ray of light falls on any surface, a part of the light is sent back to the same medium. This phenomenon where the incident light falling on a surface is sent back to the same medium is known as reflection.
Refraction occurs when light waves travel from a medium with a given refractive index to a medium with another at an angle. At the boundary between the media, the waves phase velocity is altered, usually causing a change in direction. This phenomena is called refraction.
2. In reflection there is no speed or wavelength change of light. But in refraction, wavelength of light increases or decreases but its frequency remains constant.
