Can we write that,
Distance= Average Velocity x Time?

Yes we can certainly write the relation as stated.
 
Distance = (Average velocity) × time
 
The total distance covered by an object will be equal to the average velocity with which it is travelling multiplied by the time it takes to cover that distance.
