Can volume go in negative?why?

Yes. Volume can be represented in negative.
A negative sign is used because the change in volume is a negative quantity. When the external pressure is more than the internal pressure, compression (stress) of the gas takes place. Thus, the final volume Vf would be less than the initial volume Vi. Hence, there is a net decrease in volume, which would be denoted by the negative sign. i.e, Vf -Vi will be negative.
