can the work done be zero

Yes, work done can be zero under two conditions :-

1. When the displacement is zero.

2. When the angle between the applied force and the direction of displacement is 90o.

Example ;- 1. Work done by electrostatic force of nucleus on electron when it relvolves round the nucleus is zero.
