Can a stationery object have energy?

Yes,stationary objects have energy.They may have potential Energy, chemical energy , electrostatic energy (if charged) and many more. Kinetic Energy is the energy which is due to motion.Hence, a stationary object does not possess kinetic energy but can have other types of energies.
