BF3 undergoes sp2 hybridization because Fluorine as one half filled orbital . thus it requires one half filled orbital . B has forms 3 half filled orbital i.e 2s12px12py1. Thus fluorine share electron with them and hence it is sp2 hybridized.
When co-ordinate bond is formes one atom give both its electron in that case the vacant orbital is required.
