Using the formula and method that THE nerd used:
v = √(3RT/M)

M is the molar mass (in kg)
R is the universal gas constant
T is the temp, in Kelvin
Molar mass  of N2 = 28 g = 0.028 kg
T = 273 K

v = √(3*8.314*273/0.028)
= 493 m/s
