Assume that the selling price of 1 metre cloth = Re.1

Thus the selling price of 33 metres of cloth = Rs.33

In  this transaction, he has gained the money of selling 11 metres cloth = Rs.11

Thus, the CP is Rs.(33-11)=Rs.22

Now g a i n % equals fraction numerator g a i n over denominator C P end fraction cross times 100 %
Thus, substituting the values of gain and CP in the above formula, we have

g a i n % equals 11 over 22 cross times 100 % equals 50 %
