Biological classification is the process by which scientists group living organisms. Organisms are classified based on how similar they are. Convergent evolution is the independent evolution of similar features in species of different lineages. So, basically, biological classification tries to arrange or group organisms who have diversified earlier into groups based on the similarities in their characteristics. Hence, biological classification helps in the study of convergent evolution.
