electron stops due to repulsion as it reaches the plate, that is its kinetic energy will convert to its potential energy. and its kinetic energy is 100eV
that is 1001.6
10-19=1.6
10-17 joules.
as electron reached near to the plate then its kinetic energy will fully convert into the potential energy which is
kq1q2/r
Here the area of the plate is not given only surface charge density is given.
