area of two parallelograms ABCD (with base 5 cm and altitude 4 cm ) and PQRS
( with base 4cm and altitude 5cm ) both have area equal to 20cmsquare . are the parallelograms congruent ?
give reason.

Expert Answer
The reason is simple - Congruency means that the 2 paralleograms should exactly look the same i.e. same base and altitude. If the area of 2 quadrilaterals is same, it doesn't mean that they are congruent as the dimensions of all their sides and angles needs to be same. Here, in this case, even though the parallelograms have same area, they have different base and altitude. Hence, they are not congruent.
