CBSE Class 7 Answered
Aquatic plants have poorly developed root system?
Asked by apramanik | 01 Sep, 2019, 03:24: PM
Expert Answer
The primary function of roots in aquatic plants is to provide anchorage and absorb water containing nutrients and minerals. Since aquatic plants are surrounded by water, water containing absorbed nutrients is absorbed all over the plant surface. Hence, there is no need for a root system in aquatic plants to absorb water.
