Expert Answer
the radius of the larger circle = 3
the area of the larger circle == 9 == A1 +A2
A2 == 9 -- A1 -----(1)
A1 , A2 , A1 +A2 are in A.P therefore ( A1+ A1+A2 ) / 2 = A2
2 A1 + A2 == 2 A2
A2 = 2A1------(2)
equating (1) and (2) , 9 -- A1 = 2A1
3 A1 = 9
A1 = 3
therefore the radius of the smaller circle = 3
