I will recommend you solving it step by step and not just writing the formula. This formula is not recognized in the NCERT books, even though it is a valid one. And since, you will be giving board examinations and you never know who might be your evaluator, so I will not take the risk. It would take only 3-4 minutes of your additional time, but it can fetch you 2-3 more marks. So, yeah I would not write any formula that is not explicitly stated in NCERT books.
