Answer the following questions using the given velocity-time graph of a particle moving along a straight line. (a) Is the motion uniform for the complete journey of particle? (b) Is the acceleration uniform? (c) Does the particle change its direction of motion?

(a) Velocity is increasing till first 6s and after that it is decreasing uniformly till 8s. Hence, the motion is not uniform for the complete journey of particle.

(b)The slope of the velocity-time graph gives the acceleration. The slope is different before and after 6 seconds. So, the acceleration is not uniform for the entire motion. It is uniform between 0 and 6s and between 6s and 8s, as the slope does not change in these time intervals.
 
(c) Although the velocity increases in first part and then decreases, it still remains positive. It means the particle keeps moving in the positive direction only; hence it does not change direction.
