in a right trangle pythagoras' theorem is applicable.
if in triangle ABC(say)
angle B is the right angle then
AC2=AB2+BC2..(i)
For any of the acute angles A or C,
sin theta=opp side/hypo..(ii)
cos theta=adjacent side/hypo..(iii)
with these three equations the result is obtained.
