an object of 2 cm height is kept in front of a convex lens will produce magnification of 0.5.Caalculate the size of image.will the image be erect or inverted?give reason for your answer

Magnification (m) = Size of image (I) / Size of object (O)
or, m = I/O
or, 0.5 = I/2cm
or, I = 1 cm
 
The image shall be inverted.
Reason: We can interpret this from the fact that the size of the image is diminished as compared to the object and the nature of image shall be real and inverted.
