CBSE Class 12-science Answered
An a - particle and a proton are moving in a plane of paper in a region where there
is uniform magnetic field (B)
directed normal to the plane of the paper. If the two
particles have equal linear momentum, what will be the ratio of the radii of their
trajectories in the field?

Expert Answer
Radius of the charged particle in a uniform magnetic field(r)=mv/qB=P/qB-------(1)
As the momentum and magnetic field is same the radius will depend on the charges of the particles .
r1/r2=q2/q1
