Akriti's mother is four times as old as akriti. After 5 years, her mother eill be three times as old as she will be then. What are their present ages?

Let the age of Akirrti be x years at present.
His mother is 4x years old.
After 5 years their ages will be x + 5 and 4x + 5 years old.
According to the question,
4x + 5 = 3(x + 5)
4x + 5 = 3x + 15
x = 10
Akirti is 10 years old and her mother is 40 years old at present.

ICSE Class 8 Maths Linear Equations The answer maybe rechecked. Ans: Let B's age= x Then A's age= x+5 5years ago: B's age was= (x-5)yrs A's age was= (x+5-5)yrs = x yrs As per question: A's age/B' age= 3/2 x/x-5=3/2 2x=3x-15 3x-2x=15 B's Present age = x=15 yrs(Ans) A's present age= x+5= 15+5= 20 yrs(Ans) But, The answer given in the uploaded video are 5 yrs and 10 yrs Please recheck this.
