Given that the production uniformly increases by fixed number every year. So, the production in each year forms an AP.

Let the AP be a, a + d, a + 2d, ……

Production in the third year = a3 = a + 2d = 6000 … (1)

Production in the seventh year = a7 = a + 6d = 8000 … (2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get:

4d = 2000 i.e. d = 500

From (1), we get a = 6000 – 1000 = 5000

Thus, production in the first year is 5000 units.

= 45500

Thus, the total production in 7 years is 45500 units.

Production in the 10th year = a10 = a + 9d = 5000 + 9 500 = 9500 units
