CBSE Class 11-science Answered
According to IUPAC Nomenclature system we must name magnesium with atomic no. 12 as unbiium then how far this rule is applicable?

Expert Answer
Earlier the elements were named according to their some unique properties or on the name of the discoverer or any place, etc. Lateron IUPAC gave a rule for their nomenclature. But it is not feasible to rename the elements we already are very much aware of, so names of the already known elements are unchanged.
