Given, CE || AB and CE = AB
Thus ABEC is a parallelogram
It is known that diagonal of a parallelogram bisect it into two triangles of equal area
∴ area (?ABC) = area (?BCE) …(1)
?ABD and ?ABC lie on the same base AB and between same parallels AB and DC
∴ area (?ABC) = area (?ABD) …(2)
From equations (1) and (2)
area (?ABD) = area (?BCE)
