**Ab is daimeter of circle. Ah and bk are the perpendiculars from a and b resp. to the tangent at p. Prove that AH+BK=AB**

Expert Answer

From the figure,

AH = HP (i)

BK = KP (ii) tangents from external point.

AB = HK (iii) opposite sides of rectangle

AH + BK = HP + KP

AH + BK = HK H - P - K

AH + BK = AB from (iii)
