The wire is bent to form a closed circle So, the two parts are assumed to be connected in parellel (because they have diff. amount of current that flow through them)
So,equivalent resistance
1/R = 1/5 + 1/5
1/R = 2/5
R = 5/2 = 2.5 ohms
