a wire 1 mm diameter and 1 m long fixed at one end is stretched by 0.01 mm when a load of 10 kg is attached to its free end . calculate young's modulus of elasticity.

Are of cross section = πr^2 = π× 0.5×0.5× 10^-6 m^2 = 25π × 10^-8 m ^2
Force = mg = 10×10 = 100N
Stress = F/A = 100/(25π × 10^-8)
Strain = change in length/ initial length = 1×10^-5/1
Youngs modulus  = stress/ strain = 1.27 × 10^13 N/m^2.
