(a) Two adjacent homologues differ by a CH2 group in their molecular formulae.
The difference in the molecular masses of any two adjacent homologues is 14u.
(b) Aldehyde homologous series - HCHO, CH3CHO, C2H5CHO
Alcohol homologous series - CH3OH, C3H7OH, C2H5OH
