A water storage tank has a cylindrical shape. If it is 2.1 m high and has a diameter 1.4 m, find the cost of painting its base and curved surface area at the rate of Rs 5 per m2.

Given: Diameter of the tank= 1.4 m ⇒Radius of the tank (r) = 0.7 m, height (h) = 2.1 m

 Let S denote the inner surface of the well which is the sum of Curved surface area and Area of the base.

 


 

Cost of 1 m2 of sheet = Rs 5

Cost of 10.78 m2 of sheet = Rs (5×10.78) = Rs 53.90
