a vertical stick 10cm ong casts a shadow 8cm long. At the same time, a tower casts a shadow 30 m long. Determine the height of tower.

Consider a triangle with perpendicular(i.e. vertical stick) of length 10cm and with base i.e. it's shadow of 8cm.

We know that tan(a)=P/B=10/8=1.25.
Now ,let hieght of tower be 'h'
then tan(a)=1.25=h/30cm(base i.e. shadow of tower)

hence h=1.25*30=37.5cm
