A tendril is not seen in tall trees. Why

A tendril is a specialized stem, leaves or petiole with a thread-like shape used for climbing plants for support, attachment and cellular invasion by parasitic plants, generally by twining around suitable hosts found by touch. Tendrils start off by bending in search of a surface to grow across. In case of tall trees, it is difficult to establish a contact easily. Hence, tendrils are not found on tall trees. Instead, they coil around shrubs and herbs in search of support.
