A student spilled ammonia in lab and its irritating smell spread everywhere.The students opened the windows and after a while, they got relief. Please Explain how the smell spread and how opening the windows lessened the smell.

This is simply based on diffusion. Diffusion describes the spread of particles through random motion from regions of higher concentration to regions of lower concentration.
Likewise when we open a bottle of perfume at one corner of the room, soonafter we can smell it allover the room.
