CBSE Class 11-science Answered
A student scores lowest marks in Mathematics. The marks scored in Science were twice than that of Mathematics and that in English were three times more than that of Mathematics. Find the minimum marks a student should score in Mathematics so that he gets an average of at least 70 marks.

Expert Answer
Let the marks scored in Mathematics be x
Then the marks in Science = 2x
and the marks in English = x + 3x = 4x
Average =
7x ≥ 210
x ≥ 30
So the student must score atleast 30 marks in Mathematics.
