A staircase has 5 steps 10cm wide and 10cm high,what is the minimum velocity with which the ball must be thrown from the top step so that it directly lands on the base?

For minimum velocity the ball must go down tracing the steps of the stair case.
Thus the range of the ball must be equal to the total width of the staircase
range, R = 5*10 = 50 cm
total height, h = 5*10 = 50cm
now the ball is thrown in the direction of horizon thus the equation of motions can be solved for finding the velocity of the ball.
