The are which is to be painted = Area of a Cuboid + Area of the Base 

= 2(lb + bh + lh) - lb

= lb + 2bh + 2lh

=[(3.5 × 3) + (2×3× 4.5) + (2 × 3.5 × 4.5)]

= 10.5 + 27 + 31.5

= 69  sq.unit
