A rocket is fired with a velocity 0.6 times the escape velocity on the surface of earth.How high will it go from the surface?

The velocity of rocket = v = 0.6 × 11.2 = 6.72 km/s = 6720 m/s
Radius of earth is = RE = 6.4 × 106 m
Mass of earth is = ME = 6 × 1024 kg
The velocity with which the rocket is fired becomes the critical velocity of it.
 
Thus, the rocket can go up to a height h above the earth's surface.
