A Revolving Right Triangle
Asked by | 05 Mar, 2008, 06:17: PM
Hi Yashu,
When the triangle is rotated the solid formed can be considered as a combination of 2 right circular cones the slant heights of which are 5cm and 12cm respectively. Also using trigonometry you can calculate the angles of the triangle which are also the angles of the cones formed.
Thus to calculate the volume of the solid formed simply add the volumes of the 2 cones.
