It is given that reflected ray is perpendicular to incident ray when light is incident on plane mirror.
This means that angle between the reflected ray and incident ray is 90°.
From laws of reflection, we know that angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection.
Thus, angle of incidence (i) = 45° = angle of reflection (r)
Thus,
i = r = 45°
