a piece of wire of resistance 6ohm is connected to a battery of 12V. find theamount of current flowing through it. now the same wire is redrawn by stretching it to double its length. find the resistance of new redrawn wire.

Expert Answer:
As, I = V/R
Therefore, I = 12/6 = 2 A.
If the length of the wire is doubled by stretching it then its area will get halved.
This will increase the new resistance 4 times the earlier one.
