a person sitting on the top of a building is dropping ball at regular intervals of one second.find the position of the 3rd,4th,and 5th ball when the 6th ball is being dropped?

Expert Answer
When the 6th ball is dropped,
Time for 6th ball t = 0 s
5th ball t = 1 s
4th ball t = 2 s
3rd ball t = 3 s
2nd ball t = 4 s
1st ball t = 5 s
Now using the equation,
s = ut + 1/2 at2
initial velosity for all the balls = 0 m/s
S = 1/2 at2 ............................(1)
Now, putting the values of time t for the ball we get the position of each ball accordingly.
Position of the 3rd ball (t = 3 s)
s = 45 m
position of 4th ball (t = 2 s)
s = 20 m
position of 5th ball (t = 1 s)
s = 5 m
