The person can see objects only upto 1 m and not beyond 1 m. This means the person is suffering from myopia.
Thus, to make objects distinctly visible for his eyes beyond 1 m concave lens must be used.
Thus, the nature of lens is concave lens.
Far point of person, v = - 1 m
Actual far point, u = - 3m
focal length, f = ?
Thus, concave lens of power -1.5 D can enable the person to see the objects distinctly upto 3 metres.
