Mass of the monkey, m = 40 kg

Acceleration due to gravity, g = 10 m/s

Maximum tension that the rope can bear, Tmax = 600 N

Using Newton’s second law of motion, we can write the equation of motion as:

T – mg = ma

?T = m(g + a)

600 = 40(10+a)
a =5m/s2
 time taken by the monkey to climb up(length of the rope 10m.
s =ut + 1/2 at
10 = 0xt +1/2 X5 xt2
t2 = 4
t= 2 sec
