Expert Answer
Mass of the monkey, m = 40 kg
Acceleration due to gravity, g = 10 m/s
Maximum tension that the rope can bear, Tmax = 600 N
Using Newtons second law of motion, we can write the equation of motion as:
T mg = ma
?T = m(g + a)
600 = 40(10+a)
a =5m/s2
time taken by the monkey to climb up(length of the rope 10m.
s =ut + 1/2 at2
10 = 0xt +1/2 X5 xt2
t2 = 4
t= 2 sec
