a metallic sheet of rectangular shape of dimensions 48cm*36cm. from each one of the corners a square of 8 cm is cut off. an open box is made of remaining part of sheet. find volume of box?

Length of metallic sheet = 48 cm
 
Width of sheet = 36 cm
 
Side of the square = 8 cm
 
Thus, length of the box = 48 - 16 = 32 cm
 
Width of the open box = 36 - 16 = 20 cm
 
Height of the open box = 20 cm
 
Volume of the open box = 32 cross times 20 cross times 8 equals 5120 space c m cubed
