A metal cube of side 10 cm is subjected to a shearing stress of 10 ^4 Pa.Calculate modulus of rigidity if top of the cube is displaced to 0.05 cm.

Modulus of rigidity =shear stress/shear strain =[F/A] / [x/L]
Here given that shear stress = 10^4 Pa
x= 0.05
L = 10 cm
 
Modulus of rigidity = 10^4 x 10/0.05 =2x 10^6 Pa
