JEE Class main Answered

A man saves RS. 200 in each of the first 3 months of his service. In each of the subsequent month his saving increases by RS. 40 more than the saving of immediately previous months. His total saving from the start of service will be RS. 11040 after how many months?

Expert Answer

For 1st 3 months, amount = 600 Rs.

For the 4th month, amount saved is 240 Rs.

And then the saved amount increases by 40 every month

So, they form an A.P. with first term a=240 and common difference d=40

We know that, sum of n first n terms of an A.P. is
