answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Let the present age of the son be x years.
Age of the man will be x+28 years.
After 10 years, ages of son and man will be  x+10 and x+38 respectively.
According to the question,

x+38 = 3(x+10)
x+38 = 3x + 30
3x - x = 38 - 30
2x = 8
x = 4
Hence, the present ages of the son and the man will be 4 years and 32 years respectively.
