Dear Diary,
The indiscriminate burning of disposed garbage has become a daily phenomenon in our locality. I seriously do not understand the logic behind doing such a thing. First they dump every unwanted thing on street corners and then when it’s not lifted for a while they set fire to it. Can’t people see the toxic fumes rising from such senseless disposal methods? The fumes from such burning have been affecting many people’s health. Cases of skin allergies and respiratory illnesses are at the rise. It seems as if we have forgotten the meaning of waste management. If we continue in this manner, it won’t be long before we witness some deaths too. I am really concerned about this issue.
If we do not realise our mistakes and take active steps to rectify it, we will have no one else but ourselves to blame for the inevitable results.
