Assertion :- EAN of [Fe(CN)6]4– & [Fe(CN)6]3– repectively are 36 & 35.
Reason :- Stability order is [Fe(CN)6]4– > [Fe(CN)6]3–.

Let's take the case [Fe(CN)6]4-
The oxidation state of Fe is +2
Fe = 26 electrons
Fe2+= 24 electrons
No. of electrons donated by six CN- ligands = 6 X 2 = 12
Therefore EAN of complex = 24 + 12 = 36
36 electrons are present in Krypton noble gas (Kr=36) , which means complex [Fe(CN)6]4- obeys EAN rule hence stable complex
In second case [Fe(CN)6]3-
The oxidation state of Fe is +3
hence no. of electrons in Fe3+ = 23
Therefore EAN of complex = 23 + 12 = 35
Since 35 is not electrons of noble gas hence EAN rule does not obey by this complex hence less stable.
Hence in above question both assertion and reason are true and the reason is correct explanation of assertion.
