A gas occupies a volume of 340 CC at STP find its volume at 20 degrees celsius and 700 mm of HG

Given:

V1 = 340 cc at STP

T1 = 273 K

P1 = 760 mm Hg

V2 = ?

P2 = 700 mm Hg

T2 = 20 + 273
    = 293 K

By using ideal gas equation,

fraction numerator straight P subscript 1 straight V subscript 1 over denominator straight T subscript 1 end fraction equals space fraction numerator straight P subscript 2 straight V subscript 2 over denominator straight T subscript 2 end fraction

fraction numerator 760 cross times 340 over denominator 273 end fraction space equals fraction numerator 700 cross times straight V subscript 2 over denominator 293 end fraction

straight V subscript 2 space equals fraction numerator 760 cross times 340 over denominator 273 end fraction cross times 293 over 700

straight V subscript 2 space equals space 396.16 space cc

the volume will be 396.18 cc
