Because groundnuts are legume crops, they have a root nodule which contains Rhizobium bacteria. Rhizobium fixes the atmospheric nitrogen in the soil. Ammonia enhances the soil fertility, so next season crops will give a high yield as some traces of nitrogen remain in the soil that favors the growth of other plants
